Yasiel Puig Apparently Buying Helicopter to Curb Tardiness [UPDATE]

Yasiel Puig has been benched and fined in his career for being late, and it appears as though he’s a solutions-oriented individual. His friend and “personal vehicle customizer” Alex Vega went on TMZ Live and said that Puig is indeed in the market for a chopper, and that when the purchase goes down he’ll be tasked with tricking it out.

TMZ says the Robinson R44 helicopter that Puig is rumored to be interested will run about $350k if he buys it used. The Dodgers outfielder is in the middle of a seven-year, $42 million contract.

Puig presumably got this idea from Kobe Bryant, who’s been using a helicopter to skirt LA traffic since at least 2009.

UPDATE: Maybe a no-go:

The Dodgers have told Yasiel Puig he can not, theoretically, fly a helicopter to Dodger Stadium. Federal law prohibits it, the FAA says.
