Carson Wentz Shined At The Combine on Saturday

Carson Wentz did what he had to do on Saturday and has put himself into a great position moving forward. The North Dakota State quarterback had a really nice workout at the NFL Scouting Combine and has put himself on firm footing to be the top signal-caller selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.
For top-tier quarterbacks the NFL Scouting Combine is basically an all-out effort to not screw up. If a top quarterback dominates his workouts in Indianapolis his stock may rise a little, but if he utterly fails he could cost himself a whole heap of money.
Wentz did everything he needed to do and didn’t raise a single red flag, unlike rival Jared Goff, whose small hands would make a carny blush. That said Goff did a nice job on Saturday as well, turning in an excellent throwing performance.
Wentz opted to throw during his workouts as well, and the guy was on the money:
Goodness, @cj_wentz.

North Dakota QB Carson Wentz, about as perfectly as you can throw this #NFL combine drill. Pretty effortless. pic.twitter.com/wijaFHGHr3

Pro days are what really matter for quarterbacks, so the Wentz/Goff debate will likely continue for weeks. But Wentz looked really good on Saturday and can leave the Combine feeling confident.
