Wake up everyone because the dream is over.

Linsanity 2.0 a.k.a. Jimmersanity will not come to fruition this season, as New York Knicks shooting guard Jimmer Fredette was released by the team Wednesday morning after his 10-day contract expired and he was not offered a second.

With the Knicks franchise in a tailspin (once again) of course the Knicks go full Knicks and eliminate the only part of games that the fans are currently enjoying — because nothing says “We are getting blown out of the gym” quite like a “WE-WANT-JIMMER!!!!” chant.

Thus, it is time to mourn the career of the now former Knicks bench hero who made one shot/a couple of free throws in a whopping six minutes of play.

Get out your tissues because it is time for the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of this program.

" We Lived, We Laughed, We Cried… In Memoriam: Jimmer Fredette’s New York Knicks Career 2/23/16 – 3/2/16 pic.twitter.com/BPb4E7k7kA — Rob Perez (@World_Wide_Wob) March 2, 2016 "

Is it getting dusty in here or is it just me? So many great memories that I will cherish forever.

Once a Knicks, Always a Knick … one last time (maybe ever in his NBA career): everybody stop, JIMMER TIME!!!
