March 13th marks the 18th anniversary of “The Shot,” the March Madness moment that put Valparaiso and Bryce Drew on the college basketball map. (Embedded below.) On Wednesday night, UC San Diego trailed Sonoma State by 3 with 1.9 seconds left in regulation of a Division II California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament quarterfinal.

UCSD was taking the ball out underneath their own basket. Kenny Fraser threw a three-quarters court baseball inbounds pass to Zach McMillan who caught the ball, turned and shoveled the ball to Drew Dyer, who hit the buzzer-beater to force overtime. (Names via UCSDTritons.com.)

As awesome as that shot and play are, there are still two things in this video that are even better. First, Dyer’s dance. Hopefully Steph Curry sees this and copies it on his next game-winner. Second, the girl in green around the 55-second mark who pretty clearly says, “I think I peed my pants.” That’s how you know March Madness has arrived.
