DeMarco Murray in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform, blink and you may have missed it. As the dismantling of the monstrosity Chip Kelly built continues, the Eagles are reportedly finalizing a deal to ship Murray to the Tennessee Titans when the NFL’s new league year opens on Wednesday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on Monday afternoon, as Philadelphia is in the process of making it’s second big trade of the day. Earlier the Eagles shipped Kelly additions Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to the Miami Dolphins.

Murray signed a five-year, $40 million deal ($21 million guaranteed) with the Eagles last offseason, and like Alonso and Maxwell, was a complete flop in Philly. In 15 games, the 28-year-old rushed for just 702 yards and six touchdowns on 193 carries (3.6 yards per carry).

There is no word on the compensation the Eagles will receive in exchange for Murray, but getting his contract off the books will be a huge step in the right direction for a franchise looking to retool things.

As for the Titans, if they can get solid production out of Murray and revamp the offensive line this offseason, it will go a long way to helping quarterback Marcus Mariota’s development.
