The Warriors stunningly faltered to the Lakers on Sunday. Given the scoreboard, if you didn’t watch the game it wouldn’t surprise you to learn that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson did not shoot particularly well, but the magnitude of that was historical:

This result is far from concerning for Golden State. Everybody has a bad night, and this wasn’t the worst time in human history for them to have theirs. That being said, in their pursuit of winning 73 games, this wasn’t one that anybody had penciled in as a threat, and it makes the path to a record a bit harder.

The Warriors are 55-6. They’ve still got three games left against the Spurs, one against the Clippers, and a few more against other formidable opponents like the Grizzlies, Mavericks, Trail Blazers, and Celtics. It will be fascinating to watch the pursuit.
