Seth Rollins is back to training in a wrestling ring, according to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet:

"Our sources say Rollins has been working in the ring without a brace at his Black and Brave Wrestling Academy in Illinois, usually multiple times a week, but he’s cautious about leg involvement and plays it safe by icing his knee after every training session."

Rollins was WWE champion when he tore his ACL and MCL in a house show match against Kane in early November. This was supposed to carry a 6-9 month recovery time, and we’re approaching the early end of that projection.

Reading the tea leaves, it does not seem especially likely that Rollins will return in time for WrestleMania in early April, but it seems like a good bet that we will see him back in the month or two after that. He absolutely should make sure he’s 100% before coming back; the last thing he or WWE needs is for the injury to be re-aggravated.

It’s been well documented that WWE’s been bit by the injury bug. Rollins, John Cena, Cesaro, and Nikki Bella have all missed substantial time, while Daniel Bryan was forced to retire early. Vince McMahon and co. are presumably chomping at the bit for especially Rollins and Cena to return to replenish the show’s star power.
