Tulane Coach Ed Conroy Says Fans Told Him He'd Been Fired During Upset Win

Tulane has not had a great season to this point. The Green Wave entered Friday night’s AAC quarterfinal game against heavily favored Houston with a 12-20 record. Rumors of coach Ed Conroy’s impending dismissal have been numerous.
But a tenuous situation turned downright awkward when news of the university’s decision leaked out during the game. Conroy said he was told by three people behind the bench that he’d been fired.
Unfazed he piloted his team to an upset victory and into the semifinals. He said postgame that he has yet to be informed of any change in his employment status.
The situation made for an interesting presser.

If the situation is as it appears to be, it’s a bad look for Tulane. At this point fans of chaos should be rooting for the Green Wave to win two more games and stumble into the NCAA Tournament. What could be more entertaining than a coach on the big stage with nothing to lose?
