Jason Day is worried about Jordan Spieth. Before the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Day spoke to the media and expressed concerns over Spieth’s wellbeing.

"“I’m worried about him,” Day said. “Because I don’t know if he’s playing too much…[he] may get burned out and go through a rut where he doesn’t want to be on a golf course for a while.”"

Spieth started his season with a cash grab tour and hit up China, Australia, the Bahamas, Hawaii, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore all in a 13 week span. When Spieth was playing, many, including Day, were resting up for the busy PGA Tour schedule. Prior to the Singapore Open, Spieth expressed that his travel schedule had taken a toll on him saying, “It won’t be something I’ll do in the future, to bounce back and forth from Asia as much as we did, or Australia. I’m very tired.”

Sure Spieth hasn’t had his best stuff lately, but as the number one ranked golfer in the world, it may be a bit early to question whether or not he’s burnt to the point that he can’t compete.

Day though, generally seems worried about his buddy.

"“I’ve told a few people on my team I’m kind of worried about him because of what he’s kind of putting himself under. He has played a lot of golf, especially the last few years.”"

It’s good to see guys like Day and McIlroy come to Spieth’s defense after a few bad rounds. This generation of golfers is special.
