Jason Day won his eighth PGA Tour event at the 2016 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. It’s the first win for Day this season and his second wire-to-wire win since the BMW Championship last season.

A win this early in the season is huge for Day, who said he’d been struggling with his mental toughness. With some advice from Tiger Woods, Day broke through early this year, narrowly edging out Kevin Chappell, who was attempting to win his first PGA Tour event, by one stroke.

After making his putt on 18, Day told NBC’s Steve Sands that Tiger sent him a text on Sunday morning. Whatever Tiger said worked and Day now appears ready to contend for a green jacket at the Masters.
