A tip-in with under two seconds remaining by Rex Pflueger dashed the hopes of all impartial observers to see Notre Dame go down to the 14-seed Stephen F. Austin. Pflueger, an unlikely hero, averaged 2.5 points per game this season.

(I know the line on this game was less than two points — and SFA covered! — but Stephen F. Austin has so much less national prominence as a program, and had a really fun style of play to watch.)
