Jamie Dixon has bolted Pittsburgh and the ACC to take over as the head basketball coach at TCU.

Dixon is a TCU alum, having played for the Horned Frogs from 1984-1987, and was part of the school’s last NCAA Tournament win (76-60 over Marshall in 1987).

The Horned Frogs went 12-21 this year and finished dead last in the Big XII with a conference record of 2-16. The 50-year-old Dixon just finished his 13th season at Pitt, as the Panthers were bounced from the NCAA Tournament by Wisconsin.

Dixon has a heck of a rebuilding project in store at TCU. The Horned Frogs haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament since 1998, and have gone 50-79 in the past four years since joining the Big XII.
