Hey look, Steve Williams is once again talking about Tiger Woods.

Williams, who is Woods’ former caddie and once compared working for Tiger to being a slave, is now claiming that Woods’ workout regimen may have played a part in the 14-time major champion’s injuries.

"Via BBC: “I guess when he looks back, he might question some of the activities that he did, some of the gym work that he might have done that, you know, had all these injuries escalate … It is very hard to pinpoint how he has got to where he is now but I’d have to say there is a lot merit in [Woods’ injuries being caused by him training as an athlete rather than a golfer].”"

Williams joins the likes of Brandel Chamblee in thinking that golfers are over doing it in the gym. Chamblee said earlier in the year that Rory McIlroy may be over doing it, which drew return fire from the now number three ranked golfer in the world.

Williams also had some positive things about his former boss, which is a little different and out of the norm for him. He joins Tiger’s current caddie, Joe LaCava, in believing that Woods will win on the PGA Tour again.

"“I don’t doubt he will come back to the winner’s circle. He is a great competitor, he has an incredible work ethic – when he can work hard – and one thing he does know how to do is win,” said Williams in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live. “But whether he comes back and wins major championships? That’s going to be a very difficult task.”"

Woods hasn’t played since the Wyndham Championship, and there has been a lot of speculation as to where he is on the road to recovery after undergoing multiple back surgeries. Tiger has said there is no timetable for his return to the sport.
