Missouri Legislator Introduces Amendment to Name St. Louis Cardinals as Official Baseball Team of State

A Missouri state representative has far too much time on his hands. Allen Curtis, representing North St. Louis County, has introduced an amendment to the Missouri State Statutes, seeking to have the St. Louis Cardinals formally recognized as the official State baseball team.

I was just in Jefferson City last week, had I known this was going to happen I would have dropped a nice blue message at his office. Apparently someone is feeling awfully insecure about their place in baseball.

Will it pass? Well, the state house is currently red, but that’s with a Republican majority. I can’t imagine there are actual people who will stain themselves with a vote on this topic.
