WGC-Dell Match Play Day 1 Results and Day 2 Tee Times: Jason Day will Continue

The first day of the WGC-Dell Match Play is in the books and most results were as expected. There are a few losses and halved matches that may have been a little surprising, but with the new format of everyone facing off against each other in each group of the bracket, there’s still room to bounce back after a loss.
The main focus today will be on Jason Day. The world number two, who we saw drop his driver and grab his back after his tee shot on the 16th, suffered a back injury on the previous hole during his match against Graeme McDowell, but Day will continue to play.
“Jason tweaked his back (driving) on hole No. 15 and had some work done post-round. He is pleased with the outcome of the match and is getting prepared to play tomorrow,” said Day’s agent Bud Martin in a statement.
This is somewhat of a risky move for Day because if he further injures his back now, he may not have enough time to recover before the Masters begins on April 7th.
