Turnovers Killed Kansas In First Half Against Villanova

Kansas opened the first half of its Elite Eight matchup with Villanova by essentially handing the Wildcats the ball for 20 minutes. The Jayhawks committed 10 turnovers and coughed the ball up on a whopping 30.3 percent of their possessions. Kansas averaged just 12.5 turnovers per game this season, so their awful first 20 minutes has come out of nowhere.

Bill Self’s team ended the opening frame down 32-25 and it could have been much, much worse. If Kansas can’t turn things around, the squad can blame its sloppiness for it.
