Carmelo Anthony was fired up after Syracuse defeated Gonzaga on Friday to advance to the Elite Eight.

His wife, Lala, posted a video to Instagram of the New York Knicks star ranting and raving about the Orange overcoming a giant conspiracy to make it this far.

“They don’t want us to win,” Anthony, a member of Jim Boeheim’s 2003 national title-winning team, bellowed. “They tried to keep us out of the tournament first. They suspended us …”

He likely went on but that’s when the video cut off.

Anthony’s comments really do make you think. There are so many people in America, especially among the media, who would love for Syracuse to lose or — better yet — have to slum it in the NIT.

Very few Syracuse alums in the fourth estate.

CBS and Turner also have plenty of reasons to keep the most-followed college team in New York City with a legendary coach off of televisions this time of year. Who would watch a Syracuse game?

Anthony is definitely onto something here. Especially the part about the NCAA Tournament selection committee having such an anti-Orange bias that they allowed the 19-13 team into the tournament.

As far as Boeheim … well, we all know that’s a witch hunt.

How deep does this go?

At this point I am rooting for Syracuse to win on Sunday so we get another week of tinfoil hat theories from Anthony’s rec room.
