An armed robbery and carjacking suspect led police on a high-speed chase in the Los Angeles area on Sunday. This happens all the time. What doesn’t happen all the time is the suspect acting like they are surrendering to authorities before attempting to steal a recently-exited police cruiser.

There are several reasons why this strategy is rarely employed. One of them is because it has a low probability of success, as proven here.

Kudos for playing until the final whistle, I guess.
