Kevin Clark is leaving the Wall Street Journal for The Ringer, a new site by Bill Simmons, The Big Lead has learned. Clark declined to comment. There are already around two dozen staffers at The Ringer, including many former Grantland writers and editors.

Clark is known for quirky stories about the NFL. Examples include Game of Thrones spoilers being a major faux pas in locker rooms, and the Packers “obsession” with the board game Settlers of Catan. Last year, he wrote a big piece about how the lack of depth at the quarterback position is a crisis for coaches and front offices not lucky enough to have a great one.

In addition to writing, the job is expected to include various multimedia responsibilities.
