Jon Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, needs permission to drive. Jones appeared in a New Mexico District Court this morning because of a probation violation stemming from a recent traffic stop where an officer accused him of drag racing. Jones called the officer a liar and pig after making sure his body camera was on. Jones agreed to a plea deal this morning. Via MMA Junkie:

"Jones, 28, agreed to a plea deal that requires him to compete a driver-improvement course, enroll in an anger-management course and complete 60 additional hours of community service after he picked up five traffic citations this past Thursday for drag racing, exhibition driving, weaving, failing to properly display his license plate, and modifying his exhaust pipe."

(TMZ has video from the court appearance.) The D.A. was also looking to give Jones a curfew that would keep him in his home from 10pm to 4am, but the judge obviously knows what time UFC pay-per-views begin because he did not impose a curfew for “employment purposes.” This will allow Jones to keep his headlining spot at UFC 197 later this month in Las Vegas.

Jones will fight Daniel Cormier for the belt he had to give up because of various legal issues last year.
