Max Jones is an 18-year old junior hockey player from Rochester, Michigan. He currently plays for the London Knights of the OHL. He’s projected as one of the top North American prospects in the upcoming NHL entry draft.

During a playoff game on Wednesday, Jones hit opponent Justin Brack of the Owen Sound Attack with a vicious check above the shoulders that left Brack on the ice. Jones was given a game misconduct penalty and ejected. As he exited the ice Jones smile and put his arms up, as if to celebrate. It was an ugly moment – Brack had to be helped off the ice – and the way Jones acted afterwards was even more troubling.

UPDATE: Jones earned a 12-game suspension for the hit.
