Greg Hardy is one of the most despised players in the NFL, and as a result – despite an enormous level of natural talent – he is still a free agent months into the offseason. On Tuesday, ESPN will air an interview where Hardy sat down with Adam Schefter to discuss a wide range of topics, including his domestic violence case.

An excerpt from the interview is provided below:

"Hardy: “I’ve never put my hand on ANY women…In my whole entire life, No Sir. That’s just not how we’re raised. As you can tell, like I said again, it’s the Bible belt. It’s just something that’s, I wouldn’t even say frowned upon, just something that’s nonexistent in most southern homes.” Schefter: “You say you did nothing wrong, you’re innocent and yet the pictures of her that surfaced would seem to suggest a woman who had some type of physical contact. How do you explain that?” Hardy: “I will stop you there and say that I didn’t say that I didn’t do anything wrong. That situation occurred and that situation was handled but … saying that I did nothing wrong is a stretch but saying I am innocent is correct. Yes sir.” Schefter: “Did you ever put your hands on her?” Hardy: “No Sir…No Sir.”"

Hardy was convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend, appealed the conviction and wound up having the case thrown out because the victim refused to participate in a new trial. So despite being convicted of assaulting a woman, Hardy was never punished and never had to answer for it.

Hardy allegedly threw his ex-girlfriend on to a bed full of weapons over an argument about her previous relationship with Nelly. He also threatened to shoot her.

At this point I’m fully convinced Hardy thinks he did nothing wrong and doesn’t believe he needs to apologize publicly for his horrific actions. Even if he was somehow innocent, he’s shown himself to be incredibly tone-deaf, a terrible teammate and an all-around tool-bag who doesn’t think rules apply to him.

Here’s hoping no one signs this piece of human refuse.
