Matt Buschmann, Husband of ESPN's Sara Walsh, Made MLB Debut Today

It's the happiest day of my life, having the person I love the most, have the dream they want the most, come true. 4 years at #Vanderbilt, 3 years in Mexico, 10 seasons in the minors, and one call that just made it all worth it.

Matt Buschmann made his first major league appearance for Arizona today after a long journey—seriously, look at his Baseball Reference page—to the big leagues. Buschmann pitched the ninth inning for the Diamondbacks, who lost 7-3 to the Cubs, and gave up no runs (on one hit and one walk) in his MLB debut.

For years I've asked when. Every single time he has said "soon." @busch2142 sent this to me and I taped it to the mirror 48 hours ago, never knowing this time "soon" finally meant "now".
