Kevin Durant Offers the Definitive Kobe Bryant Work Ethic Story
By Jason McIntyre
Can’t get into the Kobe Bryant retirement story. Sorry. Great career, Top 15 player in NBA history, but I’m not outraged his final game was bumped to ESPN2 because the Warriors are going to set history at home against the Grizzlies.
It’s less about Kobe and more about my lack of interest in retirements. I’ll run it by a shrink and let you know what it says about me.
[I could go off on a tangent about how everyone is only remembering Great Kobe, the guy who scored 81 points vs Toronto and watched a lot of Michael Jordan tape in his quest to become the next MJ, while there’s little-to-no mention of how he ranShaq out of town, and prior to that, the Colorado sexual assault case. Clay Travis has written about the latter angle.]
Anyway, it’s stories like this about Kobe Bryant, courtesy of Kevin Durant that’ll gladly read. This makes me want to spend more time honing my craft:
Expect plenty of these type of stories to emerge about Stephen Curry when his Hall of Fame career – yup, he’s in, regardless of what happens the rest of the way – concludes. [Quote via Anthony Slater]
