Cristiano Ronaldo is an unbelievable goal-scorer and on Tuesday we saw him at the height of his powers. As his Real Madrid squad entered the second leg of its Champions League quarterfinal matchup trailing Wolfsburg 2-0 on aggregate, Ronaldo knew Los Blancos needed a miracle to advance. He gave them one.

The Champions League’s leading scorer tallied three times as Real won 3-0 and advanced to the semifinals. Ronaldo scored in the 15th and 17th minutes to tie the score, then hammered a gorgeous free kick through Wolfsburg’s wall to complete the hat trick in the 77th minute. It was a brilliant display by one of the world’s top players.
