Phil Martelli won the Philadelphia Big 5 Coach of the Year award this year, beating out La Salle’s John Giannini, Penn’s Steve Donahue, Temple’s Fran Dunphy and Villanova’s Jay Wright. The fact that Wright coached Villanova to the NCAA title was not lost on Martelli. So he wrote Wright’s name on a Post-it note, stuck it on the award and apparently left it there. Via the Philly Inquirer:

“This has got to be Jay Wright’s. The guy won the national championship. It makes me scratch my head. Jay, this is yours. I’m going to borrow it for now but I’m going to drop it off at your house on my way home.”
