Tubby Rents
By Tully Corcoran

Since 2007, Tubby Smith has lived in Lexington, Ky., Minneapolis, Minn., Lubbock, Texas and, as of this week, Memphis, Tenn., which works out to a new address every 27 months on average.
Even in the transient world of high-level coaching, that’s a lot of U-Haul rentals, and Nebraska coach Tim Miles has jokes.

Because this happened on Twitter, where every action has an unequal and opposite over-reaction, Miles had explain to the unwashed masses that sometimes people say things they don’t really mean for the purpose of making others laugh, subverting formality or saying a boring thing in an amusing way.
These are known colloquially as “jokes.”
… lastly, Tim Miles wanted me to pass along this message: “Tell them I love Tubby! And I love Memphis.” … Again, he was just goofing around.

Since 2007, Miles has coached at North Dakota State, Colorado State and Nebraska an average of a new home every 36 months.
