The St. Louis Los Angeles Rams made the move to snag the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft in a trade with the Tennessee Titans last week, and now have to decide what to do with it.

The overwhelming consensus is that Stan Kroenke’s team will take one of the top two quarterbacks available, Cal’s Jared Goff or North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz with the top selection. Now we know the Rams will meet with both players before the draft to help make their decision.

As I’ve noted before, the race to be the top quarterback in this year’s draft has been the most boring in recent memory. Both guys seem capable but analysts don’t seem to care very much who is actually better. Maybe the Rams don’t know either.

Even if the Rams have already made up their minds, it makes complete sense to meet with both guys. General manager Les Snead has to dot his Is and cross his Ts before making what could be the biggest decision of his professional life.

Recent reports have seemed to indicate that Goff may have separated himself in the eyes of the Rams, but that could also be a smokescreen.

We probably won’t know who the Rams will select until April 28, when they turn in the card for the top pick.
