Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined to shoot 15-55 in their Game 2 loss to Dallas at home this evening. In the postgame, the pair was asked about Charlie Villanueva’s interruption of Westbrook and Cameron Payne’s pregame dance routine; Durant (who acknowledged he needs to shoot better) said it was “fake sh*t,” while Westbrook added, “That’s for the guys that don’t play.”

Villanueva, meanwhile, was all laughs after the game:

On one hand, it’s hard to fathom that Westbrook and Durant combine for that poor a shooting night again in this series. On the other, OKC dropped a game at home, and all of a sudden this series is a lot more interesting than anyone envisioned.

The pregame shenanigans are obviously silly, and it’s a certainty that we’ll be sick and tired of hearing about them by Game 3 on Thursday. However, for now it’s a solid enough hook for now for a series that involves two of the best players in the world versus a 37-year-old Dirk Nowitzki and a ragtag cast of contributors. How the Thunder respond on the road will be worth watching.
