VIDEO: Alex Gordon Made the Defensive Play of the Year So Far

Justin Upton destroyed a pitch to left-center. It looked like sure extra bases. Alex Gordon kept chasing after it, though, and got close enough to make a miraculous diving catch.
This play looks great on replay, when everyone already knows the outcome. But watching it live, it didn’t appear Gordon had any shot tracking it down.
It will be interesting to see how far StatCast says he ran on the play. For now, I feel safe saying it was at least two football fields.
