NCAA Overturned Satellite Camps Ban, Jim Harbaugh Wins

ESPN is reporting the NCAA Board of Directors has rescinded the proposed ban on satellite camps.

That move was not unexpected. While the ban would have nixed Jim Harbaugh’s inflammatory summer tours, satellite camping permitted smaller school coaches to work at bigger camps to find kids and allowed kids who can’t afford to travel to get broader exposure.
Banning them outright only made sense for most SEC schools and the Confederate portion of the ACC. So, this is probably a good thing, except for Hugh Freeze who may have to work more.
Sadly, we won’t get to see Michigan elaborately work around the rule by holding a camp at its new Stephen M. Ross School of Oceanic Resource Management campus in downtown Miami.
