Tiger Woods appears to be gearing up for a return to the sport he once dominated. Woods, now ranked 499th in the world, has apparently booked himself some accommodations for THE PLAYERS Championship (May 12-15) and the Memorial Tournament (June 2-5). The PLAYERS is just two weeks away and was reported by Tim Rosaforte as one of the possible places Tiger would make his return.

Although, after Woods’ annual Tiger Jam in Las Vegas, he was asked when he would make his return, to which he responded, “Dude, if I knew, I would tell you,” Woods said. “I’m sick of being on the sidelines. . . . I want to compete against these boys. I miss it.”

While we may all be itching just as badly to see the 14-time major champion on the course as he is to play, he’s now shown off his swing in public several times, the better choice may be the Memorial. Woods has not fared well at TPC Sawgrass, even though he’s won the event twice, and has had much more success at Muirfield Village where he’s won five times and never missed a cut.

Jack Nicklaus, the host of the Memorial Tournament, says he would love for Woods to play:

"“All I would do is tell him I would support him,” Nicklaus told the Plain Dealer. “If he wants to play, I would love to have him. If he doesn’t think he’s ready to play, then he shouldn’t play. It would be a nice surprise for the tournament, but I would say the chances are no better than one in five. That’s not bad. It’s better than zero.”"

One thing does seem certain, Woods seems ready to play this year.
