VIDEO: Jeff Samardzija Snapped a Bat Over His Knee After Striking Out

San Francisco Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija threw eight innings of one-run ball against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night. His nine strikeouts, however, aren’t as impressive as his fit of rage after striking out.
Samardzija channeled his inner Carlos Zambrano by snapping his bat over his knee like a twig. It wasn’t typical pitcher behavior but seems perfectly in line with a former football player.
“It is what it is,” he said after the outburst. “It’s stupid.”
