Last night, Texas A&M lost yet another top quarterback recruit who had previously committed to the program, and then in short order, multiple other players. Tate Martell, the top “dual-threat” quarterback, de-committed from the school Wednesday night.

Shortly after, wide receivers coach Aaron Moorehead, who played wide receiver with the Indianapolis Colts, sent out a series of tweets.

Shortly after that, Mannie Netherly, who had already committed to the program, announced he was also de-committing after seeing “what kind of person my future coach is.”

Five-star receiver Tyjon Lindsey announced he was no longer considering A&M shortly after that.

Let’s set aside the rant on “kids these days.” Aaron Moorehead has been guarding and respecting A&M football since 2015. Before that, he was with Virginia Tech, in the same position. He’s been at four different schools since entering the profession after his Colts’ career. Actual members of the college football profession preaching loyalty–when they can and do bolt for greener pastures all the time–will never be lacking in irony.

[UPDATE: Moorehead has sent out an apology. We’ll see if A&M is loyal to him after that.]
