Former Notre Dame, UAB Running Back Greg Bryant Dies After Shooting

Greg Bryant was once one of the most sought-after recruits in college football. After a rocky start to his college career at Notre Dame, The 21-year-old former five-star recruit was trying to turn things around at UAB. Tragically, Bryant will never get that chance, as on Sunday he was declared brain dead after being found shot on the side of the road this weekend.

A new report now claims he has indeed passed away.

The 21-year-old was reportedly shot at 4:45 a.m. on Saturday while he was driving south on Interstate 95 near West Palm Beach. Maurice Glover, a passenger in the car was shot as well, but only sustained minor injuries. Bryant was listed in critical condition and was “fighting for his life” for most of Saturday as tributes and prayers poured in from friends and former teammates.

West Palm Beach police are now investigating the incident as a homicide.

Thoughts and prayers are obviously with Bryant’s family and friends. Here’s hoping whoever did this is brought to justice in short order.
