Enes Kanter's Immediate Reaction to Game 1 Upset was to "Roast" Skip Bayless for Some Reason

The Oklahoma City stole Game 1 against Golden State with a big second-half comeback. They now hold home-court advantage and seemed poised to make this a prolonged series, which comes as a surprise to many, including the oddsmakers in Las Vegas.

After the game, Thunder big man Enes Kanter singled out one of the many millions who believed the Warriors were capable of a four-game sweep: Skip Bayless. And judging by the time stamp of his tweet, he sprinted into the locker room to do it.

The three-word, two-emoji message was apparently strong enough to be assigned verbs like roast and taunt because words have no longer have any fixed meaning.

Let’s take a step back and realize how bizarre a sports world we live in when Kanter (8 points, 6 rebounds) couldn’t wait to zing a made-for-television contrarian for a couched opinion most Americans share. Bayless simply said he wasn’t sure the Thunder could win a game — showing some rare humility.

It proves that Bayless is renting space in Kanter’s head for some reason. While much of the public claims they can’t hear the First Take co-host’s dog whistle, it appears athletes have a hard time tuning it out.

Look, I’m not suggesting Kanter’s tweet is a big deal. But it should be pointed out that the Warriors need to beat Golden State three more times in order to advance. They haven’t won anything yet. Their fans should hope Bayless’ big, shiny takes haven’t obscured that fact for Kanter and his teammates.
