Bartolo Colon Had "Secret Family," Or Is Facing "Deadbeat Dad" Lawsuit

Bartolo Colon has a secret family. At least that’s the most eye-catching way to frame the headline. Per the New York Post, Colon is being sued by 38-year-old Alexandra Santos, who is not his wife, in Manhattan court, claiming he has failed to pay child support for their 8-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter.

"The 42-year-old hurler has been dragged into Manhattan court by Alexandra Santos, 38, who claims the $7 million-a-year player is a deadbeat dad who failed to pay child support for their elementary-school-age kids."

The case was granted an anonymity shield by a judge. But, Colon rendered that moot by acting as his own attorney.

One could frame this as another tale in Colon’s lore as a jovial, chubby, and rubber-armed man of mystery. Or, if the allegations in the lawsuit are substantiated, he’s just a run-of-the-mill jerk.
