According to the Public Policy Polling’s annual sports survey, people, “golf fans,” believe Tiger Woods is better than Jason Day.

Yes, you read that correctly. People, who are supposedly golf fans, were asked who the best golfer in the world is regardless of favoritism, 22% answered Jordan Spieth, and an astounding 21% said Tiger Woods.

TIGER FREAKING WOODS!

A man who hasn’t won a major tournament since 2008, who hasn’t won a tournament since 2013, who hasn’t played in a tournament since August 2015, who is, as of writing this post, ranked 524th in the world, and who just hit three straight golf balls during a ceremonial shot from 100 yards out into a pond, is better than the current world number one who has won seven of his last 17 starts.

I get that Woods is a favorite around the world. He’s one of my favorites and I would love to see him return to the sport and win again, but I am not going to sit here and tell you that Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the world because I am not insane. Unfortunately there apparently are people who, despite all of the things I listed above, still believe that Woods is the best golfer in the world. How? I don’t know and cannot even begin to understand.

Also, when asked whether or not people had a favorable opinion of Jason Day, 49% said “favorable” and 34% said “unsure.” I don’t even have a comment.

Woods did come in second behind Phil Mickelson when asked “who is your favorite golfer,” and somehow, Bubba Watson earned as many votes in that category than Rickie Fowler.

Don’t believe me?

Take a look for yourself.

This is absolutely ridiculous. These “golf fans” obviously don’t watch golf and haven’t done so since 2013.
