Erick Aybar Was Choking on a Chicken Bone, Had to Be Sedated to Remove It

In the category of bizarre baseball injuries, we can add Erick Aybar due to a chicken bone. According to David O’Brien, Aybar got a chicken bone stuck in his throat, and had to go to the doctor and be sedated to remove it.
Aybar has been hitting .174 with a .207 OBP and .205 slugging percentage with the Braves this year (and no, those are not typos), so we can’t rule out that this involved some sort of chicken sacrifice ritual and was a rally chicken attempt, a la Major League.
