Scott Boras spoke with Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports after Matt Harvey had another bad outing, getting chased before the end of the third inning against Washington.

Boras has been frequently in the news with his high-profile clients when it comes to their handling after Tommy John surgery. People in Washington know this, having gone through Stephen Strasburg being shut down. It’s interesting then, to hear his comments about Harvey and pitching late into the postseason last year.

"“And by the way, I want to be clear. Matt Harvey wanted to pitch. The organization is not at fault. “This is baseball. When an organization is in the playoffs and World Series, the whole thing, unless you’ve got remedies for it long before it happens, this is what you do.”"

Boras also drew comparisons to where Stephen Strasburg was a year ago, when he went on the DL at the end of May with a 6.55 ERA.

There has also been discussion of Matt Harvey’s fitness–Mike Vaccaro made allusions to it in his article about Harvey this morning when he said he no longer “remotely resembles the lithe, elite athlete he was in 2013.” Boras dismissed that this was a conditioning issue, adding that Harvey’s “lower half is one of the strongest in baseball of any pitcher.” If we can appropriate another news story from this week, I believe what Boras meant to say is that Harvey has an LA face and an Oakland booty.
