John Daly Made a Nine on a Par-4 at the Senior PGA Championship
By Michael Shamburger
Well, it was inevitable. John Daly had a very John Daly moment on Thursday at the Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores in Michigan. On the par-4 16th hole, Daly pulled his tee shot left into a hazard so he re-teed the ball and hit again. His second shot off the tee, which was his third on the hole, landed in some thick grass very close to a water hazard, but Daly was able to find the ball and play it. Daly then hit from the thick grass to the rough and then hit from the rough into the hazard again which meant he had to drop. Finally, on his seventh shot, Daly managed to land the ball on the green and two-putt for a very rough nine.
He finished his round at four-over, which, considering five strokes came on one hole, isn’t that terrible. He’s currently in 126th place and is 13 strokes behind leader Rocco Mediate.
Hopefully someone was waiting just off the course with a drink after that round.
