Rob Ryan and Rex Ryan are reunited in Buffalo, and man, do they have some things to say about it. The Ryan brothers sat down with Jenny Vrentas of MMQB and predictably ran their mouths quite a bit about a lot of things.

Rob Ryan wants you to know that the last two years in New Orleans wasn’t his defense, and that they were “a waste of time for me.” He later added, “Oh, we are dead last in defense. Well, yeah, you are going to be dead last playing this bullshit defense. But it is my fault because I didn’t say anything. I never stood up and said, F– you, I ain’t coaching this.”

Rob also bristles at suggestions that he has been around this long because of his last name. “But you know what’s funny? I heard this one the other day: Well, it’s nepotism. Nepotism? I’ve been in this league 20 years. I have coordinated the last 12 years in a row.”

Here are the defensive rankings of Ryan’s teams as he was coordinator over the last 12 years, out of 32 teams (via pro-football-reference.com):

2013 was the anomaly in Rob Ryan’s career, the only year he finished in the top 12 in scoring defense.
