Phil Mickelson had an interesting 14th and 15th hole during the first round of the Memorial Tournament. On the par-4 14th, Mickelson flew a wedge into the grandstand behind the green and the ball bounced over and onto the cart path. He chose to take an unplayable lie and hit from the original spot.

On the next hole, Mickelson’s drive went just far enough right to hit a marshal and bounce all the way back across the fairway. Mickelson walked up to the fan and said, “If your head was a touch softer I’d be in the fairway.”

Then Mick gave him a signed glove.
