Aqib Talib has had his fair share of negative off-field incidents over the years and we can now add another one to the list. Talib was one of two people shot at a Dallas strip club in the early hours of Sunday morning and reportedly suffered a leg injury as a result. Talib has already been released from Medical City Hospital

The shooting reportedly happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday after a fight started inside the club. A patron pulled out a gun and fired it, hitting another customer. The fight then continued outside, in the club’s parking lot where another person was shot. Police are currently searching for a number of people involved in the incident.

Talib is one of the Denver Broncos’ best defensive players and the cornerback is a three-time Pro Bowler. He is a huge part of what the Broncos do defensively and therefore a big contributor to their run to win Super Bowl 50.

The 30-year-old has had multiple run-ins with the law over the years. In 2008 at the NFL’s rookie symposium, he got into a fistfight with fellow Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Cory Byrd. In August of 2009, Talib allegedly beat up a tax driver and was charged with resisting arrest and battery. In March 2011, he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Garland, Texas for firing a gun at his sister’s boyfriend. Those charges were later dropped.

While Talib has stayed out of legal trouble over the past few years, this latest incident will certainly raise questions about the kind of people he’s surrounding himself with. His injury doesn’t seem serious but that’s not really the point. This situation could have cost him his life if it had gone down differently.
