J.R. Smith is currently not being a particularly big help for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Smith is a combined 3-for-9 from the field and has scored 8 total points through two games against the Warriors. Things are… not great! You know what is great though? His new scripted reality show, “Team Swish,” which you can support on Kickstarter right now.

"WHY NOW? There’s never been a better time to follow this controversial sports celebrity, he’s truly a great guy, misunderstood; and he is playing in the NBA Finals. BASKETBALL CAREER: J.R. Smith recently signed a 2-yr deal with the Cavs, and is playing in the NBA Finals."

Yessh. Maybe somebody should go in and edit this to downplay the NBA Finals angle.

"LOVE: J.R. proposed to his short-time girlfriend, Shirley, which took everyone by surprise. The wedding is after the finals (which we have permission to film). EYES ON THE PRIZE: J.R. has promised that he will get married after the finals. Which means he has to get his team through the finals first!"

Is it too early to move up the wedding?

Team Swish is seeking $450,000 in total. By the time this season ends, he’ll have made a little over $55 million in his NBA career.

If you are thinking about supporting this project, the rewards are pretty standard – wristbands, autographed jerseys, be an extra on the show, get a producer credit – but can you really put a price on supporting J.R. Smith’s scripted reality show?
