Iranian Soccer Player Suspended Six Months For Gaudy Spongebob Pants

Sosha Makani, a professional goalkeeper in Iran, was suspended for six months after a photo emerged of him wearing a pair of yellow Spongebob Squarepants pants.

The punishment seems just a little steep for the offense. Makani may already have been under scrutiny. He was arrested in January after a photograph emerged of him socializing with women who were not wearing a hijab.
This news probably precludes Russell Westbrook’s long mooted move to the Iranian Basketball Super League.
