France looked set for a moderately disappointing 1-1 draw with Romania (Greece in yellow clothing), until Dimitri Payet scored this goal. Payet assisted the first France goal and created eight scoring chances. Great, breakout performance from a 29-year-old finally getting his chance.
A rusty performance from France, who haven’t played a competitive match since the 2014 World Cup. The fearsome potential going forward was evidence. So was a clear weakness in the back four with Adil Rami and an aging Patrice Evra.
