Kentucky's Derek Willis Found Passed Out in Middle of Street Near Open Car Door By Sheriff

Derek Willis, a senior on the Kentucky basketball team, was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place in Union, Kentucky over the weekend. A Boone County Sheriff’s deputy found the 6’9″ forward laying in the street near a vehicle with an open driver’s side door at 4:57am on Saturday morning. From the Courier-Journal:

"The deputy reported Willis said he had “a lot“ to drink and could not advise where he was other to say in “northern Kentucky” after being woken up. The citation reports Willis had extremely slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and “was a danger to himself and others.”"

Willis appeared in 32 games last season and scored 7.7 points per game, shooting 44% on 3-pointers.
