Walter Thurmond Played Softball in Jheri-Curl Disguise Under Alias "Dick Mahoney"
By Jason Lisk

Mahoney was brought onto the Bishop’s Collar softball team based on recommendations of a friend of a friend, and proceeded to hit 7 home runs in the first 2 games.
The reader who discovered the connection was told that Mahoney left the team because he was moving to LA to pursue a filmmaking career, which matches with what Thurmond said upon retirement.
Then, Thurmond’s girlfriend posted this:
Philadelphia sportwriter Les Bowen then got confirmation from Dick Mahoney’s agent, Walter Thurmond.
@CrossingBroad Txted w/Dick Mahoney’s agent, Walter Thurmond. He says, unlike Walter, Dick has not retired, but he has “changed locations.”
