Iceland Rightfully Calls Cristiano Ronaldo a "sore loser" After Euro 2016 Draw

Portugal and Iceland played to a 1-1 draw in their Euro 2016 Group F opener on Tuesday. It was  a huge non-defeat for Iceland in their first major international tournament. Iceland is #34 in the FIFA rankings (behind #31 USMNT… USA! USA! USA!) while Portugal is 8th and has Cristiano Ronaldo. Iceland was understandably thrilled with the result and acted in kind. This rubbed Ronaldo the wrong way. Via ESPN:

"“I thought they’d won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end, it was unbelievable. “When they don’t try to play and just defend, defend, defend this in my opinion shows a small mentality and are not going to do anything in the competition.”"

I guess Ronaldo believes teams should act like they’ve been there before – even if they haven’t, like Iceland. Ronaldo’s reaction illicted another reaction from Iceland’s Kari Arnason. Via ESPN.com:

"“It makes it even sweeter when he’s a sore loser like that,” Arnason said. “I mean, he can say whatever he wants. He didn’t really get a chance today, he got one and he couldn’t put it away. What can I say? Sore loser. Tough s—.”"

Solid points! If Ronaldo has anything else to say about Iceland, he can take it up with The Mountain.
